What does asbestos inventory certification look like?
Before we can issue the Asbestos Inventory Process Certificate, we conduct an assessment program. This program consists of:
An assessment of a quality management system documented by you
An on-site assessment
An assessment of two asbestos inventory projects
Findings from these assessments are included in a report.
Asbestos inventory waiver
Because an asbestos inventory may only be performed by certified companies, waivers must be obtained for the two asbestos inventory works to be assessed during the permitting process. An asbestos survey certificate is an official confirmation that a company meets the legal requirements for carrying out asbestos surveys. Only certified companies are authorised to conduct these surveys, which involve identifying and documenting the presence of asbestos in buildings or installations. Without certification, performing such work is not permitted under Dutch law.

The certification process starts with an assessment programme conducted by Normec. This includes an evaluation of your documented quality management system, an on-site audit at your business location, and the assessment of two asbestos survey projects. Temporary exemptions are required for these projects, as only certified companies may carry out asbestos surveys. Once all criteria are met, your company will receive the certificate.
