Temperature and (relative) humidity mapping

In the production, storage and distribution of medicines and other critical products, guidelines relating to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) must be adhered to. It requires monitoring important parameters such as temperature and relative humidity in rooms of pharmaceutical or other GMP-critical products. Our experts can help you monitor these values.

XeniaProgram Manager

To get an accurate picture of the temperature and/or humidity distribution in the room, our experts install highly accurate data loggers. Through our extensive range of state-of-the-art test equipment, we validate warehouses, cold rooms and ULT freezers (-80 ºC) as well as autoclaves, and kill tanks in no time.

Temperature mapping & (relative) humidity measuring

By carrying out temperature and/or relative humidity mappings, our experienced team demonstrates that the areas where products are processed or stored meet the required environmental conditions. Inadequate storage conditions can compromise product quality — something that must be avoided at all costs. The collected data also allows us to identify potential risks and provides a solid foundation for any improvement proposals.

We not only perform temperature and relative humidity mapping in new spaces. When the use, layout or HVAC installation of an existing facility is changed, mapping is also essential.

Does your storage facility adjoin at least one exterior wall? If so, both summer and winter mappings are required. This allows you to understand the seasonal impact on your space and products, while also identifying any potential risks. The mapping file provided demonstrates the suitability of the area for its intended use and serves as essential documentation during audits.

Sublime mapping requires the right know-how

Over the past few years, our team has built up extensive expertise in mapping a wide range of environments, including:

  • Warehouses, depots and distribution centres

  • Climate chambers and incubators

  • Cold rooms, refrigerators and (mobile) refrigerated containers

  • Freezers, freezer rooms and ultra-low temperature freezers (-80 °C)

  • Heat furnaces and vacuum dryers

  • Vapourised hydrogen peroxide (VHP) studies

  • Autoclaves

  • And more

Good to know: depending on the space being validated, we use specialised wireless data loggers or thermocouples. All equipment is calibrated within the appropriate temperature and humidity range and linked to validated software. We also have equipment suitable for use in ATEX zones. Thanks to this specialised equipment, we can carry out rapid and reliable analyses.

Safety is a top priority at Normec. That is why all our mapping experts hold a VOL-VCA certificate, along with certification to operate scissor lifts and aerial work platforms to easily reach all the heights and corners in your warehouse.
