VCA* certification: practical and goal-oriented on the work floor

Certification
Life Safety Inspection

VCA*

A VCA* certification primarily focuses on the practical implementation of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements in the workplace, without the involvement of subcontractors.

Certification means that an external certification body independently determines that you operate in accordance with a specific standard. A certificate is issued by the certification body, and annual spot checks are conducted to verify whether you continue to meet the standard's requirements.

The benefits of VCA*

  • Focus on workplace safety

  • Independent proof of quality

  • Increased employee awareness

  • Competitive advantage in tenders and contracts

The VCA-checklist

The VCA checklist helps companies structure their approach to safety. Originally developed for the (petro)chemical sector, VCA is now also used in other industries where high-risk activities take place, such as:

  • mechanical engineering and technical construction

  • electrical engineering and process control

  • construction and civil engineering

  • technical services such as insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, blasting/coating, and vertical transport

With a VCA certificate, your company demonstrates that safety is a priority. It shows customers, suppliers, and employees that you take the necessary preventive measures during work activities.

Additionally, it provides an objective assessment of your safety policy.

The client determines whether a VCA certificate is required and at what level: VCA*, VCA**, or VCA Petrochemie. This table will help you make the right choice. Normec BTV Audit offers certification at all levels.

Note: VCA is not intended for self-employed individuals without employees. For them, the Besacc certificate has been developed.
