Normec Dumea and Dumea are two separate organizations, both active in the agricultural sector. Normec Dumea specializes in conducting manure, soil, crop, and water research. The names are similar because of their shared history. “Both parties have been involved in various acquisitions, but we have both chosen to retain our names for reasons of recognizability,” explains Remco Woertman, co-owner of Dumea since 2021. “Our customer base, sampling, and advice fit seamlessly with the specialized and reliable analyses carried out by Normec Dumea.”
Cooperation on manure analysis
Remco explains: "Of course, there is sometimes confusion among our customers due to the similar name, but thanks to our intensive collaboration, this never causes any problems. We work well together. Manure analyses are seasonal. When the weather is nice, everyone wants a manure analysis at the same time. To spread the workload more evenly, Normec Dumea was looking for a party that could also supply other samples such as water, feed, and soil. Our customer group fits this requirement perfectly, and that is how our collaboration came about," says Remco. What does the collaboration look like in practice? Dumea is responsible for sampling, Normec Dumea for performing the analyses in the laboratory. These analysis results are then sent back to Dumea. At Dumea, they work with the parameters and use formulas to calculate the additional results, such as feed values. The customer then receives a comprehensive report including advice.

Strengthening each other
The collaboration between Normec Dumea and Dumea is fully coordinated. Exchange protocols have been developed to ensure that the software interfaces seamlessly. All samples taken by Dumea are barcoded. These barcodes are scanned in the Normec Dumea laboratory, immediately identifying the actions and analyses required. The results are automatically sent back to Dumea. Remco explains: “This makes it great to work together. We know what we can expect from each other, which strengthens our partnership. For example, we sit down together for meetings with the government. Part of these meetings concerns the laws and regulations surrounding the analyses, for which Normec Dumea is responsible. But another part concerns the sampling. This allows us to contribute input and knowledge based on our own expertise.”
Fast, reliable results
“It's not a static collaboration,” Remco emphasizes. “Needs and techniques change. This really works both ways. We keep each other informed at all times.” The collaboration between Normec Dumea and Dumea is based on consultation and adaptation. The dynamic partnership enables both organizations to respond quickly to changing requirements and techniques. Remco is very pleased with the collaboration: “The research at Normec Dumea is fast and delivers reliable results that we can build on. If there is anything, we sit down and discuss it. We work together to provide customers with accurate results that they can really use. That way, customers are satisfied and keep coming back.”

Success and vision for the future
Every year, Dumea processes around 10,000 crop analyses, 10,000 soil samples, and several thousand water and manure samples. Each analysis includes at least 10 to 15 parameters. “The demand for analyses continues to intensify,” Remco notes. "Farmers want to know more and more in order to optimize and manage their operations. The future of the agricultural sector is uncertain, but the demand for analyses continues to grow." Dumea has worked hard on its future in recent years. They have moved from Ootmarsum to new offices in Saasveld and launched a completely new corporate identity, including a logo and website. “We are ready for the future and will continue to develop in order to offer our customers the best service,” concludes Remco. “The partnership with Normec Dumea fits in seamlessly with this.”
