Webinar FSSC 22000 version 6.0
The FSSC 22000 Foundation published FSSC 22000 version 6.0 on 31 March 2023. FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) 22000 is a GFSI-recognised standard. The scheme includes a certification model that can be used for the entire food chain. The aim is to effectively manage a company's food safety responsibilities. What is the reason for the change and what do you need to do now if you are certified for FSSC 22000?
Reason for change
The main factors that led to FSSC 22000 version 6.0 are:
Inclusion of the requirements of ISO 22003-1:2022 regarding the requirements for the audit and certification of a food safety management system (FSMS)
Adaptation of the requirements to enable organisations to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
A few changes for continuous improvement of the standard
When will audits according to version 6.0 start?
Audits can still be conducted in accordance with the previous version, version 5.1, until 31 March 2024. From 1 April 2024, all audits must be conducted in accordance with version 6.0.
