The new FSSC 22000 standard version 6.0 was published on March 31, 2023. Audits according to the previous version (5.1) of the standard can still take place until March 31, 2024. From April 1, 2024, all audits must be carried out in accordance with version 6.0 of the FSSC 22000 standard. FSSC 22000

FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) 22000 is a GFSI-recognized standard. The FSSC 22000 scheme includes a certification model that can be used throughout the entire food chain. The documents contain requirements for companies in the food chain. If the requirements are met, the FSSC 22000 certificate can be obtained. The purpose of FSSC 22000 is to effectively manage a company's food safety responsibilities.

The main factors that led to FSSC 22000 version 6.0 are:

Inclusion of the requirements of ISO 22003-1:2022 regarding the requirements for the audit and certification of a food safety management system (FSMS)
Adaptation of the requirements to enable organizations to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
