International certification standard

Since March 2018, the ISO standard 45001:2018 “Occupational health and safety management systems” has replaced the previous BS OHSAS 18001:2007 as the international certification standard for occupational health and safety management systems.

With regard to the transition from OHSAS to 45001, it was decided at the last IAF (International Accreditation Forum) meeting that the transition period would be extended to March 31, 2021. Once the migration has been completed, an additional reference to any previous certification according to BS OHSAS 18001 can be added to the accredited 45001 certificate at the customer's request, for example as a note: “Certified according to BS OHSAS 18001 since ...” The 45001 certificates issued by VQZ Bonn will also bear the combined IAF/DAkkS logo.
