FAQ
Carbon filtering is a method of filtering fumes and vapours in the air, using activated carbon to remove contaminants and impurities via chemical adsorption. The huge surface area of the activated charcoal attracts and traps the unwanted contaminant molecules.
There is no perfect method, as it depends on usage and concentration of contaminants. It is advised to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and change filters before or at the suggested filter lifetime. We always recommend using an engineer for the replacement, but we can supply a bag to contain the filter if your on-site team is confident and familiar with the equipment.
Yes, pre-filters are highly recommended for use with carbon and HEPA filters. They are designed to remove particulates from the air stream, preventing them from being pulled into the main filter. This avoids restricting filtration and significantly extends the life of the main carbon filter.
