Senior Mobile App Developer (React Native)

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mobile App Developer (React Native) to strengthen our team and help build a robust, user-friendly app that truly makes an impact.

Role description

Our mobile app is the essential tool for thousands of quality controllers around the world — from the ports of Rotterdam to vegetable packers in South America. You’ll be part of a dynamic and committed team that includes developers, testers, UI/UX designers, and operations specialists. As a key member of the app team, you will take the lead in everything related to the app.

You will report directly to the Head of Operations, Jeroen Bol. Together, we’re committed to delivering high-quality solutions and driving continuous improvement for our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Further developing our mobile app (React Native/Expo) for both iOS and Android

• Contributing ideas to improve UX and user flows — what really works in the field, even in strong wind or while wearing gloves

• Building integrations with our backend (APIs), developing new features, and improving performance and stability

• Ensuring that essential core components of the mobile app are improved or replaced where needed

• Testing, monitoring, and releasing updates via the Expo platform

• Collaborating with our development team (frontend, backend, PO, QA) in an agile environment

• Contributing to technical decisions and shaping the future of our mobile architecture

Your profile

We are looking for a professional with proven experience as a mobile developer and strong communication skills – someone who can clearly explain complex technical matters to stakeholders in plain, straightforward language. You are confident, solution-oriented, and pragmatic, while also capable of thinking strategically and keeping a long-term vision in mind.

Additionally, you bring:

• At least 5 years of experience in mobile development

• Experience with React Native (Bonus: experience using Expo)

• A solid understanding of how mobile apps differ from web applications — including lifecycle management, performance, and offline behaviour

• A user-focused mindset, combined with a sharp eye for technical quality

• Experience working with RESTful APIs, Git, and preferably TypeScript

• Willingness to think beyond the technologies you already know

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines (e.g., via Expo Application Services or Fastlane)

• Specific experience with mobile app development in areas such as offline functionality, synchronization of large data sets, camera integrations, and memory optimization

• Affinity with quality control, food safety, or logistics

• Familiarity with working in teams using Figma, JIRA, and Confluence
