Normec Zertifizierung

Accreditation

Normec Zertifizierung is a certification body accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for energy management systems. This accreditation guarantees that our audit and certification processes follow officially recognized and standardized procedures. Our accreditation certificate is part of our official approval. In addition to DAkkS accreditation, we hold further official approvals from other supervisory authorities, such as the BLE and DAU.

As the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany, DAkkS is a key component of the country’s quality infrastructure and grants accreditations in the field of conformity assessment. It operates under legal mandate and in the interest of the state, the economy, and for the protection of society and the environment. Accreditation provides assurance, both to your company and to the relevant supervisory authorities, that our services are delivered with reliable quality and in accordance with nationally and internationally comparable standards.

Frequently asked questions about the accreditation

Providers can have their systems, products, or services objectively assessed or audited by a certification or testing body. If the results are positive, the certification body issues a declaration of conformity for the system, product, or service. In the case of Normec Certification, this declaration corresponds to a professional assessment and a certificate, which serves as official confirmation. Such a declaration of conformity is considered effective and reliable only if the issuing body has been officially recognized as competent.

An accreditation body—in Germany, this is the DAkkS—assesses both the management system and the technical competence of the conformity assessment body. The accreditation body also monitors impartiality and expertise. Thus, accreditation serves as proof of proper certification and acts as a quality seal for the certificates issued by Normec Certification.

DAkkS itself is embedded in European and international structures and operates under the agreements of multilateral arrangements. This promotes the global acceptance of conformity assessments and ensures the reliable exchange of goods and services across borders.

Not all certifications fall under the supervision of DAkkS. For EMAS verification and EEG assessments, for example, the German Accreditation and Licensing Body for Environmental Verifiers (DAU) is the official supervisory authority. For the verification of biomass sustainability under RED II, the responsible authority is the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE).

We also hold approvals in official databases, such as those maintained by BAFA, dena, or the German Environment Agency (UBA).
