As an independent certification body, we conduct all audits ourselves. Our experts are highly trained and officially authorised for the process. Once certification is achieved, we handle communication with regulatory authorities when needed and share the results. To ensure the reliability of our assessments, we are monitored and regularly audited by our supervisory bodies: DAkkS, BLE, and DAU.

Certification costs vary depending on your company’s specific situation. Factors such as the type of certification, existing certifications, and the number of sites or installations involved all play a role. Before proceeding, we gather all relevant information and provide a clear, transparent quote, allowing you to make an informed decision.

A certificate serves as an official confirmation that your company meets all required standards. To support this, we provide targeted feedback early in the process. If any non-conformities are identified, you will have time to correct them. Meeting deadlines and achieving the required results are essential. Once all conditions are met, the certificate is issued as proof of compliance.

The validity of certifications depends on their type. ISO certifications, such as DIN EN ISO 14001 or 50001, are globally recognised and remain valid for three years. Other certifications are valid across Europe and, in some cases, in participating third countries. Some certifications require annual renewal, which is referred to as recertification.

In most cases, recertification confirms the original certification, with audits typically being less extensive. Occasionally, criteria from other certifications are also included, such as with EMAS validation, which encompasses the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14001 and certain energy certificates. Furthermore, there is considerable overlap between the SURE and REDcert systems for biomass sustainability. Thanks to the shared structure of these certification systems, they can be easily combined in practice without duplication of effort.

In the energy and environment sector, certain certificates are legally required for operating systems — usually above a specific size. In most cases, companies seek certification to participate in public subsidy programmes, receive state compensation, or gain access to markets. Beyond these advantages, certification offers intrinsic benefits: it can enhance the efficiency and focus of your organisation's management systems, promote greater stakeholder involvement, and refine operational processes for improved performance.
