BRL 6000-21

The BRL 6000-21 covers the design, installation and management of technical installations of the above-ground part of a soil energy system. Depending on their field of work and discipline, (installation) companies can be certified for different types and sizes of installations and disciplines (design, install and/or manage). Clients are obliged to have work on a soil energy system performed by a certified company. Failure to do so is considered an economic crime.

What areas does the BRL 6000-21 cover?

This assessment guideline distinguishes between soil energy systems of individual homes and soil energy systems of residential buildings and/or utility buildings. The BRL 6000-21 has six subdivisions:

  1. Design of energy centers for ground energy systems in individual homes.

  2. Installation of energy centers for ground energy systems in individual homes.

  3. Management and maintenance of energy centers for ground energy systems in individual homes.

  4. Design of energy centers for ground energy systems in residential and/or commercial buildings.

  5. Installation of energy centers for ground energy systems in residential and/or commercial buildings.

  6. Management and maintenance of energy centers for ground energy systems in residential and/or commercial buildings
