Leading in Swimming Pool Water Testing
Swimming pool water testing
Every (semi)public swimming pool in the Netherlands is required by environmental legislation to have the water quality tested monthly by an independent laboratory, in addition to its own daily checks. Furthermore, there are also parameters that must be measured every quarter or every six months by a qualified laboratory. Normec specialises in sampling and analysing swimming pool water and has many years of experience in the field of water quality.

Environment Act
The new Environment Act came into force on January 1, 2024. Rules applicable to swimming facilities are part of this legislation. This repeals the 1969 legislation. The quality requirements for swimming pool water are set out in the Activities Decree. Every location is required to have sampling and analysis carried out in accordance with the new guidelines. Following a one-year transition period, the new requirements came into effect on January 1, 2025.
