Food Safety Culture
Food Safety Culture has been part of management expectations in the food industry since 2015. According to the GFSI, Food Safety Culture encompasses the shared values, beliefs, and standards that influence the mindset and behavior surrounding food safety throughout the organization.
Management must demonstrate its commitment to establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the food safety management system. Important elements here are communication, training, employee feedback, and measuring the performance of the food safety management system. These requirements are not only laid down in legislation (Regulation (EU) 2021/382, an amendment to Regulation (EU) 852/2004), but also in quality standards such as IFS, BRCGS, and FSSC22000.
Developing and maintaining a positive food safety culture requires more than just writing a procedure; it requires continuous commitment and support throughout the entire organization.
What are the minimum requirements for a successful food safety culture? How does such a culture contribute to a company's profitability? What are the legal and regulatory requirements? And what steps lead to effective results? You will find the answers in this white paper!
Step-by-step plan
Developing a corporate culture, let alone changing it, requires a structured approach. Without support, any change will fail. Achieve your goal step by step and make sure the foundations are solid before you start the improvement process. This white paper describes seven essential steps for developing and maintaining a positive food safety culture. Practical tools will help you learn how to establish, measure, and maintain a good culture. Training and involvement throughout the organization are crucial in this regard.
This step-by-step plan helps both companies and managers in the food industry who are unfamiliar with food safety culture, as well as those who see little positive change despite previous actions.
