Wijnen Square Crops about Normec Foodcare Online
Wijnen Square Crops
''Better and more efficient quality assurance” was the mission for the quality department at Wijnen Square Crops in 2015. Annsophie Johansson, Quality Coordinator, went in search of a digital solution to achieve this and came across our online solutions. In an interview, Annsophie enthusiastically talks about the change that digitizing quality matters has brought about for her organization.
Solution for better quality assurance
Prior to digitizing the quality manual and inspections, Wijnen Square Scrops primarily worked with Word and Excel documents stored on hard drives. Annsophie describes the previous workflow: "The system became increasingly disorganized, and at a certain point, it was no longer possible to maintain optimal quality assurance. We noticed that efficiency and search capabilities, for example, were lacking.
We therefore started looking for a way to improve this with a digital solution. When I saw the demo presentation about your QA software, I was immediately sold. It was exactly what we needed. The software is easy to use and clear. It also offers us all the features we need in terms of version management, search functions, document verification, and so on."
At least 50% time savings
By digitizing the quality manual and inspections, the company has achieved significant time savings thanks to more efficient working methods. "Keeping track of, updating, and adding information is now so quick. For example, I no longer need to keep separate lists when I've made changes or need to draft new versions. The application does all that automatically for me. We have definitely achieved a 50% time saving for both document management and inspections," explains Annsophie.

Good guidance
The implementation of the modules took some time at the beginning. Annsophie explains that this went completely smoothly, partly thanks to a clear plan of action. "Every implementation of new software takes time, of course, but thanks to Normec Foodcare Online's clear plan of action, we were able to get a very good picture of how we wanted everything to be set up during the preliminary phase. Thanks to the excellent guidance we received, we were able to quickly start transferring old documentation.“ Although our support department is available to customers every day in case of questions, Wijnen Square Crops has hardly contacted this department in recent years. ”It's just clear to us how to work with this software," adds Annsophie.
Food Safety Culture
The transition to digital quality management has brought about a significant change within the organization. Annsophie enthusiastically explains: "We have noticed that there is now broader support for quality assurance within our organization because the system is so user-friendly and accessible to all employees. Employees now explore the system themselves, ask questions about it, and make suggestions for improvement. As Quality Coordinator, I maintain an overview and provide guidance. We now share responsibility for quality more collectively.“ According to Annsophie, the modern working method, in which employees can carry out inspections using an app on their iPad, is also much better suited to the relatively young team working within the organization. ”It makes carrying out inspections fun for the employees, and I notice that this also increases the depth of their knowledge."
Very satisfied
At present, the modules used are fully in line with the company's requirements. "I can only say that we are very satisfied with working with Normec Foodcare Online. And I would like to share this with other companies. Last week, for example, we had a visit from another company in the region so that they could see how we work with the software and what it has done for us. I think it's important that other companies also know what possibilities this software offers," concludes Annsophie with a smile on her face.
