Unica Fire Detection excels in managing the entire fire safety process. The company supplies, installs, and maintains fire alarm systems from various brands. This brand independence allows for great flexibility in both installation and maintenance—something customers greatly appreciate. “Our top priority is to take the burden off the client,” says Marcel. “We manage all maintenance project-wise, so quality, progress, and costs are always transparent. Our teams closely monitor every step of the process in close collaboration with the client, using custom planning tools.”

Willing and able
Unica Fire Detection currently manages the fire safety process for a large number of buildings, including many healthcare institutions. “Certification in the healthcare sector is no easy task—and that’s putting it mildly,” Marcel explains. He’s referring not just to planning challenges, but also to coordinating the certification process within the healthcare facilities themselves. Unica Fire Detection has both the willingness and the capability to take this on. Marcel: “By closely monitoring the certification process and even taking on tasks that technically fall outside our responsibility, we manage to get buildings certified one by one—always in collaboration with the inspection body, most often Normec FSS.”
Continuous fine-tuning for results
As manager of the Fire & Gas Business Unit, Marcel oversees the effectiveness and efficiency of all processes. He regularly collaborates with Roy Senden from Normec FSS on certification matters. “There’s very open communication between Unica Fire Detection and Normec FSS. Roy is approachable, listens well, and finds solutions. Normec FSS is flexible and has its planning in good order. I’ll be honest—this wasn’t always the case in the beginning. But by continuously fine-tuning together, we’ve made real progress. Today, inspections run smoothly.”
