What do you get to do

At Normec Laboratory we contribute to the circular economy. We investigate granules that are created when recycling construction rubble by rubble crushers. We check whether the samples supplied meet the requirements, so that the material can be given a new application. For example as a foundation for road construction. Due to the nature of our work, our laboratory looks a bit different than you might expect. It is more comparable to a construction site, by the way! from a small and close-knit team.

The granules are tested via established process steps. The laboratory is accredited for this by the Accreditation Council. The sample pre-treatment, carrying out the tests and entering and checking the analysis results. All these steps take place over several days. Common activities during this process include mass determinations and visual assessments. As a Road Construction Laboratory Technician, we expect you to manage the process in accordance with the accreditation guidelines and regulations. This also includes calibrating and maintaining the equipment.

It is quite physically demanding work. The material is usually supplied in buckets that can weigh up to twenty kilos. Although you are working with rough and heavy material, it is very important that you are accurate and precise. The position is for 40 hours per week.

What do you bring

• At least an MBO+ diploma, it is an advantage if this is in the field of (civil) engineering or construction. Knowledge of IT.

• You preferably have some technical or construction-related knowledge and/or affinity.

• You are critical and enterprising in your work.

• You can work independently and have a healthy dose of humour.

• Furthermore, you are eager to learn and open to developing yourself.

• The physical effort associated with this position is no problem for you.
