Peijnenburg about Normec Training & Educations

Good refresher on food safety for Peijnenburg

Food safety is a topic that needs to be refreshed regularly. Peijnenburg had Training & Education provide the training. “Everyone enjoyed the training,” said the HR advisor. “At the same time, the material was covered well. It brought us back to the forefront.”

Keeping food safety alive

Peijnenburg regularly holds training sessions on food safety. “The material is always pretty much the same. That's why we train in a different way each time,” says HR advisor Jacqueline Kroezen. “It gets everyone thinking again.”

The right tone

The Peijnenburg site in Enkhuizen wanted to organize a training course this spring for the technical department, the HACCP team, and the operators. The company called in Training & Education for this. Kroezen: “We were very pleased with the results. The training was interactive and I thought the trainer adapted well to the different levels of the groups. He struck the right tone with each group and encouraged everyone to participate. He presented the material clearly and concisely, without any fuss. That suits us.”

Open discussion

The participants rated the training 8.3. The trainer received an 8.8. “The participants particularly appreciated the open discussion about food safety,” he says.

It is my job as a trainer to get everyone involved and actively participating in the discussions and assignments. I succeeded in doing that again with this training course. That is why people look back on it with a positive feeling.

Humor

The HR advisor says that the trainer also had a great sense of humor. "The training was fun. For example, the operators were asked to recite the alphabet and come up with a word related to food safety for each letter. It turned into a competition between groups. The colleagues had fun together. At the same time, the material was covered thoroughly. It was a real refresher. The course ended with a test.“

Interaction

Trainer Roel Botden says that he considers interaction important in his training courses. ”It keeps people engaged. What's more, employees form a team. It's essential that they understand each other well." He always discusses the course with the company in advance, for example with the quality officer. During the preparation, he regularly takes photos on the work floor. He uses these during the training sessions. “The photos are a way to get the discussion going. Employees talk about things that are going well and things that could be improved. In this way, the participants work together to dot the i's and cross the t's.”
