Objection procedure

Do you disagree with a decision made by Normec during the certification process? Then you can object by filing a notice of objection. This is done by submitting a notice of objection detailing the grounds of objection.

How to submit an objection

A notice of objection must be submitted in writing to the Normec Board within six weeks of the date of the decision.

First, an attempt will be made to resolve any differences of opinion by mutual consultation. Should this not succeed, the remaining differences of opinion on decisions taken by Normec Certification will be submitted to an Objections Committee. This is an objection committee that is acceptable to both the customer and Normec Certification.

The customer may raise an objection with an independent committee proposed by Normec Certification. This committee must have no direct or indirect interest in the decision under review. Its members must be experts in the relevant field, holding at least a higher vocational qualification and having a minimum of five years’ professional experience in the area related to the appeal. Additionally, the committee must possess legal knowledge of contract law and be familiar with Normec Certification’s procedures, or be supported by someone with this expertise.
