Complaints procedure

Normec Certification only accepts complaints that:

  • Demonstrate that the certificate holder has not responded appropriately, unless there are specific requirements within the scheme.

  • Focused on the quality of the work and standard-related.

How can you file a complaint about a Normec Certification certificate holder?

You should address your complaint about a certificate holder to the Normec Certification management via the form below.

Normec will register and confirm this written complaint and then take it into consideration.

Within six weeks you will be informed in writing of the settlement.

If the investigation of complaints shows that they can be traced back to the subject for which Normec Certification has issued a certificate to the client, Normec Certification will require corrective action and modification of the client's system.

View

If you do not agree with a derogation issued, you may submit your views within 14 days of the publication of the derogation on the website.

How can you submit your views?

You should send your views to the management of Normec Certification using the form below. Please state clearly that it concerns an opinion and which deviation it concerns. You should also properly substantiate your views. In accordance with Appendix XIIIe, belonging to article 4.28 of the Working Conditions Regulations, a notice of objection is always followed by an extra assessment by Normec Certification at the office or project site. Normec Certification will respond to your views within five working days.

Objection procedure

An objection may be lodged against a decision taken by Normec during the certification process. This is done by submitting a notice of objection in which the grounds of objection are detailed with reasons.

How to submit an objection?

A notice of objection must be submitted in writing to the Normec Board within six weeks of the date of the decision. Naturally, in the first instance an attempt will be made to resolve any differences of opinion by mutual consultation. Should this not succeed, the remaining differences of opinion on decisions taken by Normec Certification will be submitted to an Objections Committee. This is an objection committee that is acceptable to both the customer and Normec Certification.

For this purpose, the customer may challenge an objection committee proposed by Normec Certification. The objection committee may not have any direct or indirect interest in the decision. The objection committee must be an expert in the field to which the appeal relates. Therefore, the Objections Committee must have completed a course at least at higher vocational education level and have at least five years' work experience in the field(s) relevant to the appeal. In addition, the Objection Committee must have legal knowledge in the field of contracts and knowledge of Normec Certification's procedures or have someone support them in these fields.
