Leading in Central Heating Water Analysis
Central heating water analysis
Heating systems are divided into warm water systems and hot water systems. Central heating systems in greenhouse cultivation fall under warm water systems. In practice, warm water systems are prone to many problems, such as corrosion, limescale deposits, and sludge formation. With this type of contamination in the central heating system, a loss of efficiency of 10–20% is not unusual.
By controlling the water quality in these systems, you can identify and treat contamination at an early stage. This increases efficiency and extends the service life of the installation. Normec Robalab, part of Normec, has developed a calculation method for analysing central heating water, which we use to calculate the required amount of water treatment products. We take into account the stone number, the oxygen in the water, and the hardness.

To guarantee reliability, we pay a lot of attention to maintaining the installation and the water that flows through it. We prevent problems by having the central heating water analysed preventively.
Central heating water testing as prevention
To keep your central heating system in optimal condition, we recommend having a water test carried out once or twice a year. Some customers even choose to do this four times a year. We take care of everything for you; the entire planning, sampling, analysis, reporting, and dosing of the right products. After sampling, we carry out the analyses in our own laboratory. You will receive the results in a comprehensive report with recommendations.
We apply a suitable water treatment strategy, which prevents damage to the installation and optimises energy transfer. In addition to the importance of keeping the central heating system in top condition, analysing central heating water can save you a lot of money. This can amount to several thousand dollars in lost revenue per year. Preventive checks help you avoid such risks.

Treatment
Contamination can consist of corrosion and/or boiler scale products in solid or sludge form. Sludge will largely settle in places with a low flow rate, such as in the boiler and radiators. Contamination by sludge leads to impaired heat transfer, which significantly reduces efficiency. You can prevent this and maintain efficiency by using the right products.
Water treatment is often necessary if you regularly add make-up water due to water losses. Depending on the systems, oxygen corrosion can occur because oxygen is absorbed into the water through a porous installation. Using the right oxygen inhibitors reduces the occurrence of this corrosion.
