How we work
The certification process in 5 steps
- 1
Documentation assessment (phase 1 assessment)
Normec NCK will visit your company to review the prepared documentation. The aim of this visit is to assess whether your organisation is ready for the implementation audit. If applicable, there will be a period between the phase 1 assessment and the implementation audit (phase 2).

Implementation assessment (phase 2 assessment)
Normec NCK assesses whether the system operates in line with the requirements set out in the relevant normative documents. This assessment includes the assessment of operations, both in the office and at the implementation site. The scope of this assessment depends on the size of the organisation.

Issue of certificate
If the assessment is positive, the auditor will nominate the organisation for certification. Before the certificate is finally issued, several quality checks are carried out. Once the checks are carried out, your organisation receives the certificate and the associated audit report.

Interim audits
During the term of the certificate, which is usually three years, Normec NCK carries out surveillance audits. Their scope and frequency are laid down in the various certification schemes. In the event of a positive assessment, the current certificate will be continued.

Reassessment
Normec NCK will visit about three months before the expiry of the certificate for the reassessment. This assessment is of the same scope as that at step 2. If the result is positive, the certificate is extended by three years.

All information about our accreditation can be found on the website of the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA.). We are registered here under number C501 for management certification and number C626 for product certification.
Yes, we can audit multiple schemes simultaneously or combined. However, for current certificates, this does depend on their expiry date. Furthermore, the ISO standards ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 can be combined very well due to their structure. Audits for schemes such as VCA and ISO9001 can also be combined.
