Rens Peeters, pig farming specialist with a focus on water at Voergroep Zuid, optimizes water quality on farms every day. “Water is often overlooked in livestock farming,” says Rens. "Yet it is extremely important for the health and performance of animals. A pig can survive two minutes without air, three days without water, and two to three weeks without food. Yet water is often underestimated as a factor in achieving good results in the barn."
Rens regularly carries out water checks for Voergroep Zuid customers. “I take water samples and have them analyzed by Normec Robalab for various important parameters. The results of the water analysis provide us with valuable insights,” explains Rens. “Based on these results, we advise our customers on the specific steps they need to take to improve their water quality.”

"When I visit a customer and look into the pipes with an endoscope, we can often see immediately where the problem lies. The reception from our colleagues in Deurne is warm. There is always time for a chat and they are always ready to answer questions. We enjoy going there.”

Jan Altena, senior account manager for pig farming at Voergroep Zuid, has noticed an increasing awareness of water quality, partly thanks to the collaboration with Normec Robalab.
In the past, water was often overlooked, but now we are receiving more and more questions from farmers about the quality of the water in their barns,“ says Jan. ”Together with Normec Robalab, we provide them with the right answers and support them in improving their water management."

And through our contacts with farmers, we can further raise awareness of water testing. In this way, we can really help farmers move forward.”
