Layer Thickness Measurements
Layer thickness measurements and structural composition analyses provide insight into the structure and thickness of existing constructions. These measurements are performed using core drilling and specialised measuring techniques. The measurements are essential for renovation projects, quality control, and substantiating design decisions.
Grain size distribution of sand, foundation material and recycled asphalt
We analyse the grain size distribution of materials such as sand, foundation layers, and recycled asphalt to determine whether they meet technical and environmental standards. This helps ensure proper drainage, stability, and workability. This is essential for building durable road foundations and avoiding delays or material rejections.
PAH and DLC Testing
With a PAH and DLC examination, you show that you are environmentally aware and responsible in your handling of released materials. The examination determines the reusability of asphalt and foundation material, and helps prevent issues when offering it to asphalt plants or processors.
Our services: accredited (L047) and circular
We offer a wide range of accredited laboratory and field investigations, including:
Compaction testing of sand courses and foundation layers
In-situ density measurements (thrust ring and nuclear method)
Grain distributions of sand, foundation and asphalt granules
Delivery checks of asphalt
PAH and DLC investigations for environmental assessment
Layer thickness measurements and construction build-up analyses
Our examinations are performed according to the standards of EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and are included in our accreditation scope (L047). This ensures that our processes are designed to be reliable, safe and environmentally conscious.
Circularity and environmental awareness
At Normec WBL, circularity is at the heart of how we work. We conduct, for example, PAH and DLC studies to assess the environmental suitability of materials, which contributes to the reusability and sustainability of infrastructure projects.
