Normec strengthens lab capacity with Silliker Netherlands

Utrecht, the Netherlands, October 1st, 2025, Normec, a leading international provider of Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance (TICC) services, today announced the acquisition of Silliker Netherlands B.V., a laboratory based in Ede and formerly part of Mérieux NutriSciences.

The Ede laboratory specializes in Food Microbiology and Waste Water Chemistry testing. With this acquisition, Normec further strengthens its position in food safety and environmental testing in the Netherlands, expanding its expertise in microbiology and chemistry to better serve customers in a highly competitive market.

The Ede laboratory will continue its operations under the Normec umbrella, with customers retaining their usual points of contact to ensure full continuity of service. In close cooperation with Mérieux NutriSciences, Normec will manage a smooth transition during the coming weeks.

This acquisition does not affect Mérieux NutriSciences’ other activities in the Netherlands, which will continue through Mérieux NutriSciences | KTBA, Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk, and Rotterdam-based Mérieux NutriSciences Netherlands high-end chemistry laboratory specialized in contaminants testing.
