Normec to team up with Horizon Data Services (“HDS”), extending its critical safety services to the nuclear industry and further strengthening its position in France as a pan-European leader within the Testing Inspection Certification and Compliance (“TICC”) sector.

Normec, a leading provider of specialized TICC services, is delighted to announce the acquisition of a majority stake in HDS, a leading provider of Non-Destructive Testing (“NDT”) services to nuclear power plants in France. This strategic combination marks a key milestone for Normec as it represents Normec’s first acquisition in the highly critical nuclear sector and further cements its position as a pre-eminent pan-European TICC provider with a combined headcount of around 200 in France following its recent acquisitions in the country. HDS’ management team, headed by its founders, will remain fully involved and will continue to lead HDS’ development as part of Normec.

Established in 2015, HDS has grown exponentially to become a leading NDT services provider for nuclear plants. HDS’ unique approach synergistically combines innovative digital solutions, state-of-the-art proprietary equipment, and absolute focus on customer satisfaction.

This partnership will fuel HDS’ rapid development with an objective to broaden the range of services offered through internal and external growth opportunities.

Joep Bruins, Founder and CEO of Normec commented: “The entrepreneurial spirit of HDS’ founding team is a great match with Normec’s DNA. It perfectly shows the potential opportunities arising from introducing new technology to rather traditional sectors and fits well with our existing portfolio of leading solutions to guarantee safety of people, assets, products and environment. We feel privileged to contribute to the high standards of safety in the nuclear industry and look forward to working together with Jules, Maxence and the wider HDS team.”

Jules Luternauer and Maxence Boyenval, co-Founders of HDS: “We are impressed by Normec’s development since its inception in 2015 and HDS is excited to be part of this amazing journey. Together with our top management, we look forward to benefiting from their experience and are convinced this opportunity will help consolidate HDS’ position as the reference service provider in this booming market.”

Normec was advised on the transaction by Rothschild Global Advisory (M&A), Gide (legal) and KPMG (financial and tax). Horizon Data Services was advised by DC Advisory (M&A), Vivien & Associés (legal) and KPMG (financial).
