These ambitions align with the stringent criteria necessary to keep global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, demonstrating our proactive stance in the fight against climate change.

Our Commitments Unveiled

Understanding the critical role we play in this global effort, Normec has set forth ambitious, science-based targets to significantly reduce our carbon footprint across all scopes of emissions:

Scope 1 and 2 Emissions: We pledge to cut our absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2022 as our baseline year. This commitment reflects our dedication to directly addressing the emissions from our operations and the energy we consume.

Renewable Electricity: Transitioning to green energy is pivotal in our decarbonization journey. By 2030, Normec aims to source 100% of our electricity from renewable resources, up from 10% in 2022. This transition underscores our belief in and support for a sustainable energy future.

Scope 3 Emissions: Recognizing the extensive impact of our value chain, we commit to a 52% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions per EUR value added by 2030 from a 2022 base year. This ambitious target encompasses a comprehensive approach to reducing indirect emissions, including those from purchased goods and services, business travel, and employee commuting.
