Johan – Lead Auditor
'‘When you start as an auditor, you undergo training for this purpose. You then go along with different auditors for a month, performing an increasing proportion of audits independently. Once you are ready, you are assessed by a scheme coordinator and qualified to perform audits independently.’
'I currently audit organisations in the fields of environmental management (ISO 14001) and safety management (VCA). An audit is often an important moment for a client. As an auditor, you have to deal with different stakeholders, who all expect something from you. It is therefore important that you stand firm. However, you can fall back on your colleagues and you also regularly work with them at the clients' premises for a combined audit.

Merel - Lead Auditor, Scheme Coordinator and Team Leader
‘I always tell people that I am on all day. This is because it is important to pick up all signals during an audit so that I can present the appropriate audit findings at the end. It is also important to manage your available time well and stay in control. My goal is to deliver a high-quality report within the scheduled time and complete any discrepancies as quickly and smoothly as possible. If that succeeds, my day is successful.’
‘Besides my role as Lead Auditor, I have also taken up the roles of Schedule Coordinator and Team Leader. This typifies Normec, there are plenty of opportunities within the organisation to develop yourself personally and thus contribute to improvements within the organisation. We are also really ready for new colleagues. I am proud every time we succeed in training a new colleague to become a lead auditor.
